Larry C. Sherertz, Sheriff

During the past five years we have worked hard to provide you, the citizens of Rappahannock, with fair, equitable, and professional law enforcement. We have implemented new programs, such as the “Senior Citizen Call Check”, “Child Safety Seat Installation” and “Crime Solvers”. With your support we have continued the “Shop With A Deputy Program”. We have continued our “D.A.R.E. Program” and D.A.R.E. Day” to educate the youth in our schools of the terrible consequences of drug use. Our “D.A.R.E. Day” is second to none and envied by many other agencies throughout the State. We have implemented the School Resource Officer Program in our schools to provide that extra comfort of safety to our parents, teachers, and students. Our Christmas in July program has enabled over 120 children to attend summer camps, who otherwise may not have had the opportunity. We have worked hard to produce new equipment for our agency to replace antiquated equipment through State and Federal grants. These grants give us the ability to provide the best possible law enforcement to you at minimal cost. We are currently upgrading our Records Management, Jail Management and Computer Aided Dispatch systems through a $75,000.00 grant we were successful at acquiring. We are especially proud of the excellent working relationships we have established with Local, State and Federal Agencies and the support we receive from their invaluable resources. Each of us is proud of what we have accomplished through TEAMWORK within the Sheriff’s Office as well as with you, the citizens of Rappahannock County. We each look forward to working for you under the leadership of Sheriff Larry C. Sherertz for the next four years. We proudly serve under Sheriff Larry C.
