The Child Care and Learning Center’s Eighth Annual Fall Auction and Party will be held on Saturday, Nov. 8 featuring an assortment of treasures sure to please everyone.
The Washington School on Mt. Salem Avenue in Washington, rich in history and home to CCLC’s After School Club and Summer Program, provides the perfect backdrop for the many beautiful and unique items that are “up for bid” during the center’s only fund-raiser of the year.
The stage will be burgeoning with fine items (both new and antiques), artwork and services offered for live bidding. The board room will be brimming with stunning collections available via silent bidding and a classroom will be transformed into The Shoppe, where one can find priced antiques and collectibles, including sterling, crystal, holiday accessories, garden decorations and jewelry.
“CCLC is blessed to have such generous patrons who, year after year, come through with such tremendous donations to ensure that our auction is a great success,” said Rose Ann Sharp, CCLC’s Executive Director.
This year is no exception. The talented and giving citizens of the community have donated spectacular and unique items. Some of them include:
• Dining: Dinner for two ai Griffin Tavern with Ron Maxwell (producer of “Gods and Generals” and “Gettysburg”); a “Star” dinner for two at The Inn at Little Washington; an Oasis Limo transport to a gourmet dinner party for four prepared by Griffin Tavern’s chef; dinner at the Public House with the “Lunch Bunch.”
• Art: Framed and signed photographs by Chris Johns; handmade “monkey grinder” busker organ by Craig Landrum; framed print by Wallace Nutting; original graphite on paper by Robin Purnell; framed and signed print by Geneva Welch; framed oil painting by Martin Woodard.
• Events: Club-level Redskin tickets and parking pass for two games (New Orleans on 11/30 and Philadelphia on 12/27); ' four Washington Capitals tickets on the ice (you choose the game) plus signed memorabilia; a band (“Tinsmith”) and ballroom ($he Washington School) for
