two-story log cabin. In 1833, a family with children bought the place, added an addition onto the house and put a family cemetery on the property. As time passed, family members, some of which were children, died and were buried there.
During the Civil War, the house was used as either a trading post or a hospital (the present owner is not sure). While under fire, a soldier was shot and killed in the upstairs window.
