interesting to see their enthusiasm seeing for the first time and learning their family connections. There were two among us who had been bom and raised here, who gave first hand accounts of days gone by and life on the Blue Ridge.
Our oldest family member was Beulah Bolen from Luray, whose father, J. Bernard Bolen had owned nearly a thousand acres which was taken as part of Shenandoah National Park.
The youngest, Megan McWaters, was a great-greatgranddaughter of Mr. Bolen.
The cemetery was established in 1916 a6 per deed on record in Rappahannock Clerk’s Office, but the first interment was shortly after the Civil War.
