They will set up road checks to examine motorists' licenses at the base of the mountain stretch, deploy roving deputies and troopers on the sides of the road, and assign troopers in cars to ride up and down the mountain continuously to “aggressively enforce any violation hopefully to slow people down,” said Murphy.
These measure may also only be a beginning. According to Moore of VDOT, “We have been looking at this stretch of road since last spring, and we will continue to look at it, consistent with what’s up there.”
