I would like to see my tax dollars spent to continue to support and improve our schools. The world has changed a lot in the last 25 years and our children deserve the best education that we can give them. That means competitive salaries for teachers to bring the best we can to the schools and retain them, to provide sound physical structures, and to support funding for sport programs especially a track field.
You can’t keep making Band-Aid decisions to save a little money here and there. Strong schools make strong students, and we are the ones who return to the county to work, live and pay taxes. Even though my children do not attend Rappahannock schools I would hope that my tax dollars would be helping other children to build a stronger future for themselves.
We live right across the street from George Mason High School in Falls Church. I took my kids to a home track meet the other day to see Rappahannock compete, something that I couldn’t do if I lived here in the county. We didn’t root for the home team.
