Antique tractor pull
An antique tractor pull will be held on Sunday. May 30 at 1 p.m. to benefit the 4-H and FFA clubs of Culpeper, Madison, and Rappahannock, at Culpeper Agricultural Enterprises, Route 29 North, Culpeper. For additional information contact Larry Wise at (540) 937-7861.
Trail ride on May 30
The Thornton Hill Hounds Trail Ride is on May 30 at 10 a.m. at Chancelors Gate (take Route 231, six miles south of Sperryville turn left at Thornton Hill Hounds sign.) Democrats meet June 1
The Rappahannock County Democratic Committee will meet at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday, June 1 at the Rappahannock County Library. Refreshments are from 7:15 p.m. until 7.45 p.m. when the meeting begins featuring a special presentation on environmental issues by Andy Platt. Everyone is invited. Conservation meeting
The Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District will hold a meeting of its Board of Directors on June 1 at 9:30 a.m. at the Farm Colony in Stanardsville, Va. For further information, call 540-825-8591.
Rappahannock Free Clinic
The Rappahannock Free Clinic will be open June 2 at the Rappahannock Health Department in Washington. Patient registration is 5:30-6:30 p.m. There is a shortage of nurses to assist at the clinic. Those willing to help (it is not necessary to be an RN) are urged to call the clinic at 675-2525 or 347-0394.
Free eye, hearing tests
The Rappahannock Lions Club invites county citizens to have their eyes checked free (including Glaucoma testing) along with free hearing tests on Friday, June 11 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Rappahannock County Elementary School. The club also is collecting used eye glasses which can be used for recycling. They can be in any shape as parts of the glasses can be used for a re-conditioned set for those in need.
