Due largely to the motorcyclists who have made Route 211 between Sperryville and Luray into a race track over Thornton Gap, state and county officials have reduced the speed limit, posted new signs, and beefed up enforcement in an effort to end weekend road accidents and fatalities.
The speeds are reduced from 55 miles per hour to 45.
