Moira McQuillen will show her latest landscapes at the Packing Shed Gallery, June 3-28. An opening reception is scheduled for Sunday, June 6 from 2 to 5 p.m.

McQuillen has painted the English countryside to the clouds over the American southwestern mesas and rock formations. She has worked in most mediums, but lately has been working exclusively in pastel to express her magic with the landscape.

“I enjoy the texture of the chalks and the way the strokes of color build upon each other,” she says.

McQuillen has a BA. degree in Fine Arts from Marietta College. She frequently is chosen for The Art League shows at the Tbrpedo Factory in Alexandria and is associated with the Arlington Artists’ Alliance as a founding member and officer.

Packing Shed Gallery is located on the comer of Gay and Porter Streets in Washington. Hours are 12:30 p.m. to 7 p.m., Thursday through Monday.

For additional information, contact the gallery at 540-675-3410 or June Jordan at 540-987-8098.
