Washington’s neighbors at the Epicurious Cow celebrated their third birthday on May 22. Locals and passersby not only filled the parking lot, but lined their cars up along the side of Route 211 Saturday afternoon, in order to taste test various food E-Cow was offering as samples.

Soloists for the concert will be Andrei Saveliev, a stunning master of the balalaika and also a graduate of the Rimsky-Korsakov Conservatory, and Anya Ibtova, soprano. Andrei Saveliev and Svetlana Nikonova were formerly members of the Andreyev Orchestra of St. Petersburg, Russia’s oldest orchestra of folk instruments.
Many members of the Washington Balalaika Society will travel to Russia this summer to perform in the festival honoring the 85th anniversary of the Ossipov Orchestra of Moscow.
