Bare Tree Artworks, a country shop, recently opened in the old Yates store in Griffinsburg near Boston. The shop features a gallery, gifts, ice cream, coffee and all sorts of homemade baked goods.
The late Connor Yates ran this store back in the 1930s, and now Wendy Yates Sanders and her husband Tom run this new business. All sorts of paintings adorn the inside wall, and they carry antique pieces, colorful glass pieces and hand-blown glass sculptures. Also on display is a metal quilt, which was created by artists from Richmond.
Store hours are Tuesday through Sunday. 10 a m. until 6 p.m. and the telephone number is (540) 547-9992. They will have their grand opening in September.
