skyrocket
This combination of pressures has caused land prices in Rappahannock to skyrocket, making one-time peach and apple orchards worth millions of dollars. John V. Lyle, an 84year-old former fighter pilot, sold a 1,466 acre series of tracts this summer for $10,767,350 some $7,400 an acre. The buyer was Virginia Property Group, LLC of Gladstone, Va., a company about which nobody in county government seemed to know very much.
