Thongs have been the subject1 of controversy before - most notably when Abercrombie & Fitch began selling them for girls ages 10 to 16 in 2002. with slogans like “eve-candy" or “wink wink” written on them.
Parents were outraged then - but the demand must be there for big-box retailer Target to display them prominently in the front of the store.
Presgraves said she would be OK with Target selling them, if they weren't sold in the front of the store, next to toys and clothing for little girls.
“They should be in the lingerie department,” she said.
This fall, look for the recent trend - political thongs. A new lingerie company. Cotton Sisters, sells thongs with Democrat/Republican printed on them. Maybe these unmentionables will provide a public service after all.
