Betty J. Yowell

Born in Rappahannock

Betty Jean Yowell, 63, died Aug. 6 at the University of Virginia Medical Center in Charlottesville.

She was born Nov. 5, 1940 in Rappahannock County to the late Raymond Clark and Anna Frye Clark.

She is survived by four children, David Yowell of Fairfax, Donald Yowell of Culpeper, Edward Yowell and his wife, Laurie, of Culpeper, and Sherrie Burke of Front Royal.

Additional survivors include Five grandchildren. She is also survived by the father of her children, Lester A. Yowell, and a sister, Marie Elkins.

In addition to her parents, Ms. Yowell was preceded in death by two brothers, Charles and William Clark.

A graveside service was held Aug. 10 at Fairview Cemetery with Pastor Jeff Light officiating.

Found and Sons Funeral Chapel of Culpeper is in charge of the arrangements.
