Seventh grader Tyler Crews of Castleton was given an award of distinction by the Johns Hopkins University Center for Talented Youth's Mathematics and Verbal Talent Search. This program encourages seventh and eighth graders to take the Scholastic Aptitude Test (SAT) early, to help identify talented youth and provide opportunities for more focused attention on their skills. Crews was awarded for scoring higher on the verbal portion of the SAT than the average college bound high school senior.
