Applications are now being taken for a new license plate featuring Shenandoah National Park. Virginia residents who recognize the park’s beauty, historic importance, and want to announce it to everyone, will want to order this plate.
The plate’s design incorporates the logo of the park: Stony Man Mountain, stone walls overlooking the valley, and one of the loveliest flowers in the park, the trillium.
Since its establishment in 1935, hundreds of thousands of visitors each year have come to Shenandoah National Park to drive along Skyline Drive and marvel at the stunning vistas from more than 75 overlooks. They have come to see deer nibbling at brush in the meadow or a mother bear with her cubs along the roadside.
