“I just love Rappahannock County, it's beautiful," Foster says. “Once you’ve lived here all your life, it's hard to take it out of you.”
In her free time, Foster likes to take walks in Washington and along Fodderstack Road. In the 1980s and 90s, she ran and walked the Fodderstack 10k Classic, which is held in April each year. She finished as high as second and third in her age group during a few of the races
Foster is also a life-long member of Washington Baptist Church and a member of the Washington Ladies Auxiliary. The Auxiliary runs the Washington Thrift Shop and donates its profits to the Washington Volunteer Fire Department. Appropriately. Foster is the group s treasurer.
In November, Foster was elected for another term as county treasurer. She says she does not plan on running for another term in the office, so she will retire at some point before the end of 2011
