Honored by their family, a 50th anniversary party was held in honor of Daniel and Bessie Norman at the Sperryville Fire Hall on December 9, 2007. Daniel and Bessie were married in Washington, D.C. on the same day 50 years ago by Rev. Russell Thompson. A computer slide presentation of memories/photos covering their dating days to present accompanied by their favorite songs was shown by Steve Norman. Pastor John Lines of Hope Hill Baptist Church gave thanks for the delicious food that was catered by David Huff and his staff at the Country Cafe. The wonderful three-tiered cake decorated with pale yellow roses and white trimmings and gold cake top made by Knakal’s Bakery was given by Ken and Fran Norman.
