A Rappahannock County High School student was charged with possession of narcotics on school proper* ty last Thursday, according to the Sheriff's Office,
The 16-year-old male student was handed over to Sheriffs Deputy Sgt.
school resource officer - by school officials and immediately suspended fbr 10 days, according to principal Adam Burket.
“We‘re fortunate that we don’t have a huge (drug) problem" at the school, Burket said. He was replying to a question whether this incident was an isolated one or part of a larger drug problem at the high school.
Bob Chappell, superintendent of schools, said he was not aware of any drug charges tiled against the student.
