Lantern Lane Farm, sold under court order, brought $550,000 at an auction last Friday. The well-known property, off Dodson Road in Viewtown, features a large plantation-style house and 11-stall bam - neither more than a few years old - and 10 scenic acres. The place is being operated as an equestrian bed-and-breakfast

The home is 3,400 square feet with high ceilings, four bedrooms, four and a half baths, a full basement, and a two-car garage, all in excellent condition. The centeraisle bam went with the house.

Auctioneer Mike Torrence of TRF Auctions of Lynchburg told the small crowd of bidders and onlookers that “this may be the biggest bargain we’ve sold this year.”
