Competes for
spot on college
volleyball team

You might say that senior Megan Wheatley is a natural to pursue a career in nursing.
She certainly has seen enough nurses and doctors over four years of volleyball, basketball and soccer for Rappahannock County High School.
“Once a season, I would be in the hospital,” she said with a laugh. “A broken finger, sprained both ankles, had a concussion, fractured my shoulder, Nurses did so much for me that I want to be the person to help others in their time of need.”
This August, Wheatley will fill another need.
She will compete for a starting outside hitter’s spot on the Randolph College volleyball team.
The Wildcats compete in the NCAA Division III Old Dominion Athletic Conference. They posted a 28 conference mark and were 7-20 overall last fall.
Division III schools cannot offer any students athletic monies, but Wheatley, who is ranked in the top five of the senior class, earned a nice merit scholarship to help her defray some of her tuition
