The 2009 LEARN Scholarship recipients were selected from a competitive group of applications received from nearly 20 high schools throughout REC’s service territory. The applications were reviewed by a committee and evaluated based on scholastic achievement, extracurricular activities, community involvement, financial need and interest in rural affairs.
“Since its inception, the LEARN program has helped many students pursue their career goals,” added Lewis. “This year's recipients will be attending colleges and universities across the country tackling a variety of career goals.”
