He is survived by his wife of over 60 years. Ruth Kirkwood Baumgardner, a son, Douglas K. Baumgardner and his wife, Margaret DeJarnette Baumgardner, of Washington, Virginia, a son, John M Baumgardner and his wife Cynthia Vogel Baumgardner of Stephens City, Virginia, a daughter, Ann Hudson Baumgardner of Washington, Virginia, eight grandchildren, namely Caroline Walker and her husband Tom, Alexander Baumgardner, Spencer DeJarnette Baumgardner. John Miles Baumgardner, Jr., Julia Baumgardner, David Baumgardner, Stuart Baumgardner and Garrett Baumgardner, and three great-grandchildren, Brooke, Manon and Jackson. He is also survived bv three sisters, Nancy Werner and her husband George of Richmond, Virginia, Alice Edwards and her husband Fred of Virginia Beach, Virginia and Katharine Westerman of Springfield, Virginia.
Services were held on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 at 11:00 a m. at Trinity Episcopal Church. Washington, Virginia A reception followed the service. A private internment took place at St Paul’s Cemetery, Woodville, after the reception The family received visitors on Monday, June 1, 2009 at the Parish Hall, Trinity Episcopal Church, from 6:00 o’clock p m to 8:00 o’clock pm.
