Last year, the big winners were Walter and Sue Longyear, owners of Fairlea Farm Bed & Breakfast in Washington, and a group of friends who entered under the name “The Sperryville Boys” — who agreed to split the pot at $2,500 each.
“That was the second time we won the Rappahannock Lions’ draw down,” said lucky Walt. “Susan and I aren’t members of the Lions Club. But, we support it every way we can because it does so much to help our community. Plus, the draw down dinner is a lot of fun."
In addition to the big cash drawing, the evening will feature a series of other raffles, offering donated prizes including: jewelry by Geneva Welch, a llama throw rug, an organic turkey, a Central Coffee Roasters gift basket, an ivory inlaid plaque, and more. Other prizes include gift certificates generously donated by Settle’s Garage, Thornton River Grille, Stonewall Abbey Cafe, Glassworks Gallery, Rappahannock Co-op and others.
