The Kappahannock-Kapidan Regional Commission presented its top 2009 Leadership Awards to two Rappahannock County citizens Oct. 7 at its annual meeting at Sweely Estate Winery in Madison County.

This year’s Regional Distinguished Leadership- Citizen and Government Awards were presented to: Beverly Hunter and Robert Anderson respectively.

Expressing appreciation that the region is “uniquely blessed with informed citizens and capable leaders,” RRRC Executive Director Jeffrey Walker read selected excerpts from nominations received on behalf of both candidates, with the winners becoming evident as he read along

Beginning with 2009 Citizen Award recipient Beverly Hunter, he noted, that she had been selected hy the Awards Committee, among other reasons for (quoting from the nominations):
