For the second time in a year the old post office building owned by Mrs Mary Cleverley in Flint Hill has been opened as Republican Headquarters. Last fall it opened its doors for President Richard M. Nixon. This year the candidate is A. Lin wood Holton of Roanoke. The Rappahannock Lions Club will hold their annual sale of apples, cider and brooms again this weekend on the Carrigan lot east of the Town of Washington. The results of a successful sale provide greater aid to Eye Conservation and Eye Bank programs of the club Lion lan Pryde, who recently nearly lost a finger in a hay baler, was welcomed back to the last meeting with wishes for a speedy recovery. Braxton James and two sons, Carl James and David James, received certificates after attending a week of fire school held recently at Amissville. Mr. James, who is chief of the Amissville Fire Company, received his certificate from Paul Poling, its president, while Buddy Devereaux, an instructor, stood by.
