Rappahannock’s delegate to state Republican conventions.
We feel that chairman Dixon’s attempts to further his own candidacy by implying something less than true, hoping that people will think they are voting for a straight Republican ticket, should not provide him the route to his victory.
We would like to ask Mr. Junk find Mr. Dixon how state and national political platforms impact local governmental policies? What does the Republican national platform say about our Comprehensive Plan, issues of easement, the School Board; the roof on the high school, spending on the library' or RAWL or the sheriffs vehicles? They don’t.
These candidates are advertising their allegiance to the Republican Party instead of to Rappahannock County; this makes us wonder how fairly they will they deal with issues proposed by county residents who are known Democrats or . Independents? Will our Board of Supervisors become as divisive and partisan as Congress or our state legislatures? We can’t afford that — not here.
