Silas Jackson Smith Silas Jackson Smith, 74, of Remington, died on Wednesday, October 7,2009 at Oak Springs Care Center in Warrenton. He was bom in Rappahannock County on April 8,1935 a son of the late Armistead M. Smith and Mabel Weakley Smith. Besides his parents, he preceded in death by his siblings- Ernest Smith, Rose Wichterman, Russell C. Smith and Alice M. Smith Tharp. Mr. Smith was a carpenter and worked in the firewood business. He is survived by two sisters, Vergie Scott of Culpeper and Frances Groves of Remington, and a brother, Charles E. Smith of Goldsboro, NC. Also surviving is a special niece. Crystal Carpenter and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral Services were held on Friday, October 9, 2000 at Fbrest Grove Baptist Church. 258 Forest Grove Road, Amissville, (Viewtwn) VA Interment was in the church cemetery. Moser Funeral Home, Warrenton handled the arrangements.
