Really, activity in and around town must slow down for a while. J&e past week has been too strenuous on the sidewalk superintendents—what, with the removal of the porch roof in front of the post —office; a new door being installed at the side; the State Highway department men repairing the storm drains at Charlie Bruce’s corner, and beside the post office—all of this going on in just a few days has kep the advisers too busy, so please slow up and let rhom hnvo a few .days to recuperate,

I really hated to have to turn down an invitation to 'attend a meeting in the county this week, for the Tfray, it was explained to me I know it, must be a very interesting meeting. For the first hour or thereabouts the Front Royal stock sale will be discussed, then the merits of the big league ball players will take up aftother hour, afterwhich they will discuss the business of firefighting and keeping up a fire company — I know this is the way the meeting is conducted, for Dave Anderson, told me so.
FIREMEN MEET TONIGHT
The Washington Volunteer Fire Company will hold their April meeting tonight (Thursday) at 7:30 in the Court House. JThe change of date is due to the company being out on call Tuesday night, at the fire in Flint Hill.
