Fire Destroys
Browning Property
A fire of undetermined origin destroyed a barn and meat house on the property of Mrs. Mable Browning, in Flint Hill, late Tuesday eventing, and came dangerously close to several nearby dwellings. B r u e Wood’s spray truck and the Washington Fire .Company arrived first on the scene. Working together with several Flint Hlil Firemen, they wetted down the nearby garage and other buildings, halting the spread of the fire.
The Front Royal Fire Company arrived shortly thereafter, followed by two trucks from Culpeper Company. Though the immediate danger passed, the firemen stayed hours longer to watch the smoldering hay and debris for signs of renewal of fire. A spray truck belonging to Mrs. R. B. Rust stayed on duty all night.
