Christianity rests upon the truth of' the Resurrection. Take away the Resurrection and our religion is no different than the other religions since we |po would be worshipping a dead God like them. However, we _have many in fallable proofs of Jesus'_ resurrection. First of all there is the :x examination -of the empty tomb by Peter and John. When Mary made it known to them that the tomb was £mpty, both ran and made a thorough examination of the clothes and the tomb. The condition of the grave clothes revealed that no rough hand had torn them from the body of Jesus * but that He had slipped out of them Himself. Upon discovering this John says, “We saw and believed.” Verses 3-10, ch. 20. Upon discovering this they went home and left Mary Magdalene alone by the tomb.
Now when she was alone, she began to weep, still seeking the body of Jesus. The Angels then _asked Iter why she wept, but the Angels could not take the place of her Lord and so she turns her back - upon them and again discovers another man standing there. She mistakes him for the gardener and asks where he has taken the Lord’s body. If he will only tell she will convey it away. Here we see the respnose of loyal love. She was not strong enough to carry the body of a dead man, yet she was willing to try be- cause of what He meant to her. Her sorrow and grief had so numbed her sense of recognition that Jesus had to call her name in the old familiar voice which she had been used to and this brought immediate recognition, He is alive!
