Washington Plants
Dogwood Trees
Dogwood trees were planted on the approaches to Washington, scattered through the town, at suitable locations and on the property of 31 Washington citizens, Monday morning.
Twenty 4-H boys and numerous F.F.A. students, under the supervision of William Herman, State Forester, R. M. Johnson, County Forester, Frederick Hutchinson, Vocational Instructor, and Roy HeltzelP Assistant County Agent, planted the trees. Edward Clopton donated the: trees from his property near Washington.
The town wishes to thank those persons who planted the trees as weir as Mr. Clopton for his generous contribution, and the town citizens who* were interested in this project In a few years, Washington will reap the fruits of this interest of those who conceived and furthered the plan to thus beautify the town.
