In Opening Games
The Rappahannock High School Panthers dropped their opening game to Madison, 16-7, 'Tuesday evening on the home court. Sonny Brown was the leading hitter for Rappahannock with a double and a homer; Berry led for Madison with a triple, two doubles and a single. Rappahannock totaled 6 hits aagainst Madison’s 9; both teams made two errors. Coates of Madison was the winning pitcher at the expense of Rappahannock's lead off pitcher, Jackie Sisk. Ranny Ayor relieved Sisk and G. W. Smith finished the game. Coates struck out ten; Sisk, four; Aylor, one; and Smith, five.
The Rappahannock Girls’ Baseball team lost to Madison 35-9. (No further report has been received from the Girls’ Baseball team).__
