LOUISA, April 8—Swinging the economy ax lustily, the Louisa County Board of Supervisors chopped down and passed 1954-55 budgets; which fit within the framework ot available revenues. I Ip one minor but typical action the supervisors saved cotlhty taxpayers 1 cent each. This came when they voted to quit the League of Virginiat Counties which charges an affiliation fee of 1 cent per capita.
That move saved Louisa County -precisely $128.26 in the coming fiscal yea*. —7-*-- » -.
Other “savings" also were effected* The board held welfare and public; health costs to current levels, as well as several minor departmental activities, and cut all but $828 from an $11,000 increase requested by the . school board.
Abandoned- was the traditional appropriation of $600 to the local chap; ter of the Tuberculosis Association.
