GENERAL TAX REVISION! SHOULD BE POSTPONED

Hearings on the 875 page tax revision bill, which has' been passed by the House, were started by the Senate Finance Committee last week and are scheduled to be concluded before the end of this month.

Much of the debate in the House centered around the question of whether priority in reducing taxes should be giveji to measures which would tend to stimulate [business, such as liberal depreciation allowances and ther removal of some of the double taxation of dividends, or to measures which would encourage consumer spending, such as increasing personal exemptions. That same argument will be resumed in the Senate with political emphasis on the question of which portions of our population will
