State funds due to school system amount to $268,182, according to the budget submitted by the school board. -The State and local funds were to be swelled by Federal and miscellaneous money to a total of $476,111, which was the total budget figure submitted by the school administrators.
A*school debt service budget set at $13,493 was approved. The county’s general fund budget (embracing welfare, public health, crime prevention, and so forth) projects expenditures and revenues balancing at $96,055. This is a decrease of about $250 from the current figure.
The welfare budget was set at $54,*137, same as currently. Louisa will provide $11,137 of this and the Fed-, eral and State governments, $43,000.
The county' cost for public health « will be $4,375. Except for the deleted appropriation of $600 to the tuberculosis chapter, this also is the same as the current cost.
Louisa’s property tax will bring in $143,228, allowing for 8 per cent in delinquencies. The anticipated public —utility tax_ revenue, which does not allow for ‘delinquents, will bring; $44,049.
State Supplements to the general fund are expected to amount to $83,371. Also budgeted as 1954-55 revenue is an expected surplus of $685 in the current general fund budget.
County Clerk L. A. Keller, Jr., said that the supervisors’ action in withdrawing from the League of Virginia Counties was “strictly an economy measure.” —(Richmond, Times-Dispatch)
