VACCINATE FOR FOWL FOX

All chickens and turkeys kept for breeders should be vaccinated to prevent fowl pox.

Dr. E. P. Johnson, animal pathologist at VPI Agricultural Experiment Station, says the vaccinating should be done about a month before the birds come into production; and can. v be done at the same time as vaccination for Newcastle disease. Always use chcken-pox virus for turkeys, and also for chickens unless they are already laying. In the latter i case, use pigeon-pox virus. It is often necessity to revaccinate turkeys every 6 months to keep a high level of immunity.
