The remainder of the chapter deals with individuals, but always in relation to the group as a whole. He commands Peter three times to “Feed His lambs and sheep.” He does this because Peter has denied Him thrice. , This also reveals how Jesus looked upon humanity, “as sheep needing a shepherd,” Matt. 9 .and John 10. He then reveals the qualifications for doing this shepherding, it must be a devoted life to Him one of love.
This as he wrote it with the view of rer vealing the Lord through and by certain selected signs and sayings. The Resurrection, of course, is the ultimate sign and is the one supreme sign which truly reveals Jesus as v the Son of God. Easter means Rising from the Dead.
