Miss Doris Dougherty
Will Be Home Agent
Miss Doris Elizabeth Dougherty of Pulaski County will assume the position of Home Demonstration Agent in Rappahannock County on June 16. She will succeed Miss Harriet Goode whose resignation was tendered at the June 3rd meeting of the county Board of Supervisors effective July 31. Miss Dougherty is a June graduate of Radford College where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in home economics and a teaching certificate. She was named the most outstanding home ec student at the college. For two and a half months last year she was an agent aid in training in Montgomery County and has been active in clubs and extra curricular work in college. Miss Dougherty was a 4-H club member for ten years, being made an All Star. She was scribe for the state organization and represented Virginia 4-H’ers at .the North Carolina Resource Conference last year. Being active in the Methodist Church, she served as president of the Wesley Foundation. Miss Goode has accepted the position of assistant agent in Fairfax County and will assume duties there in August after her marriage in July.
