Washington Fire Company answered an alarm to the home of Charles Jenkins near town last Wednesday when lightning struck the house. Wayne R. Cawley of New Jersey was taken from near Sperryville to Warren Memorial Hospital, Front Royal on Sunday, July 18 by the Rappahannock Rescue Squad. Mr. Cawley, a tourist, apparently had a heat stroke. Monday, July 19 Mrs. Robert Jenkins was taken from her home at Washington to Culpeper Memorial Hospital by the Rappahannock Squad. Amissville Rescue Squad took an accident victim from Ben Venue to Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton on Thursday, July 15. Flint Hill Rescue Squad took an accident victim from Ben Venue to Fauquier Hospital, Warrenton on Thursday, July 15.
