Rep. John O. Marsh, Jr.(D., Va.), urged a Congressional committee today to give volunteer fire departments and rescue squads the same priority in acquiring surplus federal equipment as now enjoyed by certain other public and nonprofit private public service groups.
Marsh, who represents the Seventh Virginia Congression al District, testified at a hearing before the Special Committee on Donable Property of the House Committee on Government Operations.
