A few weeks ago I received an Air Mail letter from Sperryville...unbelievable, but true. And just prior to that I received an air mail letter from the Metropolitan area. If you use an air mail envelope, and though you scratch out the words “via air mail" and the red and blue edging printed thereon, put a 5 cent stamp on it and mail it only 6 miles distance, the recipient has to pay an additional 3 cents to get it out of the post office.
