The community of Chester Gap honored its volunteer firemen, visiting firemen and additional guests which included the Rev. Roy Mathena, pastor of the Chester Gap Baptist Mission, at a banquet at the fire hall Saturday evening.
Bradley Williams, president of the fire company, was toastmaster and introduced these guests; the Rev. and Mrs. Roy Mathena; visiting firemen from Sperryville, Amissville, Flint Hill and Washington; Mr. and Mrs. Albert Wines and daughter Janet; Troopers W. A. Buntin and J. B. Willis; P. Lee Thornton; Eddie Goranson and Mrs. Dorothy Corder.
Warren County Sheriff Gary Keyser and C. Warren Turner, Chief of Front Royal Fire Department, were speakers, each lauding the community for the excellent work of the fire department and cooperation of the community.
