For Rappahannock, beatinj Turner Ashby is like the smile of a beautiful girl, the first rose of summer, or that first breath of springtime. Tripping merri. ly across the basketball eourt, amidst the exuberant cheers oi a very partisan Panther throng, springtime came to Rappahannock Friday night.
The Panthers, solid underdogs, trounced the Black Knights of Turner Ashby 80-69 behind a 28-point performance by senior guard Roy Reeve. Reeve was all over the floor. If he was not making 25-ft. set shots from outside, he was stealing a pass foriin easy layup, or grabbing a rebound over a player six inches taller than he, or forcing a bad pass by a Knight guard. About the only thing the scrappy Reeve did wrong was miss a foul shot, and, strangely, nobody seemed to mind. His performance was undoubtedly the best of his career.
There were other stars, too. C’harlie Dodson got hot in the ^rst half and led the Panthers, overtaking the Knights. He finished with 19 points. Bobby Settle added to the outside
