Lyne, Extension Agent,1 Agriculture, in Rappahannock County will retire from this position effective February 29, 1969. He has served in this capacity in Rappahannock for almost 23 years. Lyne has been eligible for retirement for three years, and says he finds it to his advantage in several ways to do so now.
Mr. Lyne’s first assignment with the Extension Service was in Scott County where he served from July 1, 1934 until January 31, 1935 as assistant agent. He went to Botetourt County in February of 1935 and worked there until he entered the U. S. Army in 1941. After being discharged from military service in August 1945, Mr. Lyne returned to Botetourt County where he remained until 1946, at which time he arrived in Rappahannock as agent in July of that year.
