The Red Cross cooperates closely with the Council of the American Broncho-Esophagological Association in i an educational program to make the public conscious of the dangers of choking accidents. Also supporting this program are the American Dental Association, the Committee on Broncho-Esophagology of the American College of Chest Physicians, and the Committee for the Prevention of Accidents of the American Academy of Pediatrics.
In its first aid courses the Red Cross gives special emphasis to ttje prevention of choking accidents.
Mr. Goetz explained that ihe danger with young children arises to a great extent from the fact that infants do not get all their baby teeth until they are two years old and the chewing habit is not firmly established until they are four.
