At Special Meet
A special meeting of the Rappahannock County Board of Su pervisors and the I Rappahannock County School Board was held Monday morning. ) All members of each board were present. The meeting had been requested by the school officials and primary concern was teacher’s salaries to be considered in preparing a 69-70 budget for the county. School personnel and operations take more than 75% of the entire county budget.
Teacher’s salaries in Rappahannock County in 1968-69 range from a minimum of $5600 to a maximum of $7 200. There has been considerable increase in salaries in the past four years, but the county was far down on the wage scale prior to this and still is competative only with a 'few counties in minimum salary and falls short in the maximum area.
