A luggage carry-all blew from the top of a vehicle Saturday afternoon and shattered the windshield of the car following. The accident occurred just east of Sperryville on Route 211. A 1970 Chevrolet station wagon operated by Charles A. Fitzgerald of Falls Church was traveling east when the luggage rack broke loose and crashed into the windhsield of a '70 Chevrolet operated by James Preston Leake of Castleton. Mr. Leake sustained numerous minute lacerations of his face. Damage to the Leake vehicle was estimated at $600 and the carry-all valued at $44 was destroyed, according to investigating officer W. A. Bun tin. A vehicle struck and killed a deer on Route 522 south of Flint Hill Sunday evening. Mrs. May Belle Stuart of Amissville in a 69 Chrysler hit the animal and killed it.

Damage to the car was estimated at $100 by Trooper Buntin and replacement value of the deer is also $100.

Four vehicles were involved in a collision on Route 522 between Huntly and Flint Hill Friday afternoon at 3:45. They were Marjories Loveless Beaty of Front Royal operating a 19(59 Chevrolet; Virginia Brown Cloud, Washington, Va. in a 66 Ford; Eddie Lee Mallory of Flint Hill in a 63 Dodge truck and a 1957 Chevrolet operated by Bonnie Lee Rector of Front Royal.
