Monday dinner guests of Mrs. Wines’ mother, Mrs. Alma Wines.
Mr. and Mrs. James E. Williams, Ronnie, Dale, Kay and Pam; also Mrs. Ed Compton and Vickie of Castleton, were guests of Mr. and Mrs. Edward Bauel in Haymarket Sunday for an all-day gathering in their home honoring the Williams’ granddaughter, Jennifer Necole Haslam, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Haslam of Front Royal. The main event was the christening of Jennifer, the Rev. Robert Koach of the Episcopal Church officiating. For the ceremony the infant wore a 99year old dress handed down through her father’s family and worn on like occasions by infants of each generation. A buffet dinner followed and others present included Jennifer’s grandmother, Mrs. R.T. Haslam of Wheeling, W. Va., Mrs. Lucy Bauel, and Fred Bauel of Haymarket.
REMINDER: A ham -and chicken dinner will be served in the Chester Gap Fire Hall Saturday, May 10, from 4 until 6:30 p.m.t the proceeds to be for the benefit of the Chester Gap Volunteer Fire Department and Rescue Squad. Charges: $2.50 adults, $1.50 under 12. □
