EACH YEAR the Virginia Association of Soil and Water Conservation Districts sponsor this poster contest and two essay contests. The themes are changed annually. The poster contest is for students in grades 4 through 6 while the essay contest is in two divisions with one for grades 7 through 9 and the other division for senior high school students.
Winners of the Area II essay contests were Kathy Hill, an eighth grade student from Prince William Soil and Water Conservation District, and Evelyn Watts, a Madison County High School senior from the Culpeper Soil and Water Conservation District. □
